NOTICE CP522

CP Notices

IRS CP522 is a notice from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that informs you that it is time to review your current financial situation. This notice is sent to taxpayers who have an installment agreement for less than the minimum payment amount usually required. The IRS uses this information to determine the correct payment for your current installment agreement.

Reasons why it happened:

  • You have an installment agreement for less than the minimum payment amount usually required.
  • You agreed to provide this update to your financial information when you were granted your installment agreement.
  • The IRS needs to determine the correct payment for your current installment agreement.
Options for responding:
  • Call the IRS at the number provided on the notice.
  • Provide the IRS with your updated financial information.
  • Do not mail the Form 433-F back to the IRS. The IRS needs to receive your updated financial information within 10 days of the notice date, and there is not enough time to mail the form and have it received and routed to the correct area within the IRS.
  • If you have already paid your balance in full within the past 14 days, disregard the notice.
