CP Notices

An IRS LT11 is a Final Notice of Intent to Levy. It is sent to taxpayers who have outstanding tax debts and have not responded to previous IRS notices. The LT11 informs the taxpayer that the IRS intends to seize their property or rights to property to satisfy the debt.

    Reasons why it happened:
  • You did not file a tax return.
  • You filed a tax return but did not pay the balance due in full.
  • You made a payment arrangement with the IRS but failed to uphold it.
  • You have a payroll tax debt.
  • You have a business tax debt.
Options for responding:
  • Pay the debt in full.
  • Set up a payment plan.
  • Request a Collection Due Process hearing to challenge the levy.
