NOTICE LT14

CP Notices

Notice LT14 is a letter from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that informs you that you have past-due taxes and that the IRS has been unable to reach you. This notice is typically sent after the IRS has sent you multiple other notices, such as Notice CP14 and Notice CP504.

  Reasons why it happened:
  • You have not filed your tax return for one or more years.
  • You have not paid your taxes in full for one or more years.
  • You have not responded to previous IRS notices.
  • You have moved and did not notify the IRS of your new address.
Options for responding:
  • If you receive Notice LT14, you should contact the IRS immediately to discuss your past-due taxes. You can do this by phone, mail, or in person at an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center.
  • When you contact the IRS, you will need to provide your Social Security number, tax return information, and the amount of taxes you owe. The IRS will then work with you to develop a payment plan.
